Who does the work
The practice is led by a qualified architectural designer with seven years in London and regional practices, working on private houses, extensions and small commercial projects — including six years of residential work through planning and onto site. Practising in architectural design. ARB registration is in progress; until it completes we describe the work as architectural design and architectural services.
An architectural assistant works alongside on drawings and surveys, and the practice owner handles contracts, programme and the parts of a project that are administration rather than design. Three people is enough to be responsive and small enough that nothing gets lost between them.
You will meet whoever will be drawing your project at the first visit, and they will still be drawing it at the end.
What we believe
Good domestic design is mostly about light, sequence and materials that age well — not about how striking a building looks in one photograph. We are more interested in the room you use every morning than the elevation you see twice a year.
We also think most of what goes wrong on a building project is not design, it is process: unclear scope, decisions made too late, costs discovered after they are committed. That is where we have put the effort, and it is what a new practice can genuinely be better at.
